Family Photos in Downtown Manteo

Our 2025 family photos were captured by my brother Tyler of Tyler Andrew Photo in charming downtown Manteo. We’re so pleased with how these turned out with a nice mix of family shots and solo pics of Harrison. Thank you, Tyler! Please note that these are the last family pics of Harrison with all his baby teeth – he lost two teeth shortly after these were taken. <3 Continue reading

The Top 13 Things I Ate in 2023

It’s hard for me to believe this is my seventh year making this year-end list of the best things I ate. I did quite a bit of traveling this year including a few works trips to NYC, Las Vegas and Orlando and vacations in Western NC + Charlotte area, Atlanta, Williamsburg, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Melbourne, FL. I had great meals while in these places in addition to some outstanding dishes on the Outer Banks and in our home.  Continue reading

The Top 14 Things I Ate in 2022

2022 turned out to be a great year for food. Although we moved from Atlanta to a much smaller community in the Outer Banks, NC, we managed to have a wide variety of food experiences in both our new home and on all of our fun travels. This is the sixth year of my annual wrap-up of my top eats and I still love making this list so much. I hope you enjoy seeing our year through the tasty food we ate. Cheers! Continue reading

Family Photos, 2022 Edition

When we moved from Atlanta earlier this year, I knew we’d have to find a new family photographer for our annual photos. Since we were going to be in Melbourne visiting Sean’s family over Thanksgiving, which is near the time of year we normally do the photos, I thought we should expand our group to include his mom and stepdad. I’m glad we did because these photos turned out so well in spite of a very wet and gray morning. I love the ones with Harrison, Nana and JJ. There are some great ones with Sean and Harrison, too – not least because we had them taken at Sean’s childhood park (he teared up a bit when I told him we were getting the photos done at Pineapple Park <3) It’s important to me to take the time for these photographs and I always order prints to cycle into our picture frames at home.  Enjoy these 2022 family photographs. 🙂 Continue reading

Farewell, ATL! It’s been grand.

Fourteen years is almost my entire post-university life. Fourteen years ago, the same year of the financial meltdown that started the Great Recession, I moved to Atlanta sight unseen to try something new. I had no job and no expectations. 23 year-old me would be really proud of where I’ve ended up (although maybe a little surprised, too). I spent the first several years getting to know the city and its people, having fun, and getting my career going. After we bought our house in 2015, I felt an inner current start to shift me to family and spirituality. It’s been an incredible experience, my life in this place over these past fourteen years.
