I recently went to Chicago for a work conference, and was amazed at how beautiful the city is! I’ve been once before, but I was about 12 years old.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Merchandise Mart and the views were fabulous, the weather was perfect and I only wish I’d had more time!

I was definitely glad for the great views (facing north) from my hotel room and the Merchandise Mart, as it was nice little retreat form a busy few days.

While waiting for a cab to go to dinner, we had a great view of the Sears Tower:

Dinner was at Pizzeria Due, where we all had the traditional Chicago-stlye pizza: deep dish. It was pretty tasty – and I got to check out the very cool Bloomingdale’s building across the street! 

 After dinner, we took a walk on the Chicago River before heading back to the hotel. It was nice to see the city at night, and enjoy the nice temperatures.

I hope to have more time for exploring and visiting my many friends that live here on my next visit!
