This post will consist of photos and videos of…you guessed – my first helicopter ride! My good friend Wendy got tickets to the W Atlanta Downtown‘s 5th anniversary party (She runs the widely popular Twitter page @ATL_Events). When she invited me to go with her, she told me it was going to be a party with appetizers, drinks and a fun surprise. I had no idea I was in for a new experience – and one I’ve always wanted to have!

We started the evening with some bubbles and snacks at W Wetbar – the hotel’s bar that opens up to the swimming pool that hangs off the building. Such a fabulous space – with view to match!

Wendy still refused to tell me what the surprise was at this point. The manager of the hotel came by and introduced himself, then asked if we were going on a helicopter ride later. Surprise revealed! I was SO excited.

We took an elevator to the top floor, walked up a series of metal stairs and watched the helicopter land on the landing pad on top of the building. It was amazing.

Wo got in, put on our headsets and we were off for a stunning tour of Atlanta at night from the air.
