When I heard that Sean’s best friend wanted to come to Atlanta from Denver over the Fourth of July weekend to have Sean’s bachelor party, I decided to get out of town for the holiday! Best to let the boys be and have some fun without me hanging around at the house.
And what would be a better way for me to spend a summer holiday than with my best friend Lindsey in Charlotte, NC? There are always plenty of good times when I go to visit and this long weekend was no exception!
I arrived to a sweet-as-pie Adeline playing in the yard and making faces at me through the palm leaves. Love her!
All weekend there were doggy snuggles. Stella and Nya are BFFs and slept with me each night. It was beyond cute.
I made a bunch of food for Fourth of July. Lindsey has an awesome kitchen and I always enjoy cooking and baking when I’m there. I have plenty of space, nowhere to be, no work responsibilities – I find cooking in this environment relaxing and rewarding. I made a watermelon, feta and mint salad, a corn and asparagus salad, jalapeƱo-lime coleslaw, and a lemonade cake with strawberries, blueberries and a lemon glaze. Noms.
Stella, Addie and Lindsey were ready to celebrate with their red, white and blue attire (yes, Stella had a red ribbon around her collar – thanks Lindsey!)
I had a fun night with Lindsey and Dan’s family and friends – there was music, lots of food and laughing, and fireworks!
We went out on Lake Wylie one day and did some tubing and water skiing. I always love being out on a boat on the water – so peaceful. Well, it was….until Minerva made an appearance.
The Anne Close Greenway was very close so we checked that out one afternoon. It’s a nature preserve with trails, beautiful scenery and lots of cool cabins, barns, etc. with interesting histories.
Addie did this on her own and Lindsey’s face says it all. Haha!
I had such a blast with these two. Can’t wait to see them again in September for my wedding. Weeee!
