Social Done Right

L to R: Laura, Me, Tessa, Wendy, and Erin at STATS Atlanta for the YP City event. Katie Wall did a great job, and it was great to meet Christopher Barger, Director of Social Media at General Motors.

Good food (Stats is always yummy!) and great people – honestly, I knew half the people there when I walked in, and by the time I left I think I’d met everyone else. Such a fun networking event. 🙂

GM also gave everyone who attended, and wanted one, a free ticket to the Braves game that night (June 25). The 1st 30 RSVPs also got shuttled to the game in GM vehicles (which I can say, as a proud owner of a Chevy Cobalt made in the plant my parents work in, are the BEST cars ever!).

What a great idea to raise awareness at a localized level, and with a group that is not traditionally in the market for domestic cars. Use social media, give away some freebies, and bring people together. No strings attached, just a “pay it forward” and “community-building” mentality. Nice job, GM, very nice job.
