Out of isolation and into beautiful Savannah, Georgia

After more than two months of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were really missing our families. Everything now seems to have great risk but in actuality everything was already a risk. We believe that this virus is not going away, even with a vaccine. As time passes, more treatments are available, too. For us, it’s about finding ways to live with the virus that provide us some safety to mitigate the risk. We continue to limit our trips out and are glad to see businesses reopening in Georgia this month. We decided to plan a trip to Savannah over Memorial Day weekend, and when I saw how cheap some of the huge mansions were to rent, we decided to invite both of our parents.  Continue reading

The Top 13 Things I Ate in 2019

This is my third year doing a post about my best eats of the year and while it’s nowhere near as exotic as that first year (India, Japan, Cuba, Miami….), I’ve had plenty of intra-country travel and wonderful Atlanta dining experiences to write about for 2019. The Big Thirty-Five Birthday Celebrations

It was a big birthday for me! As the card says – 21 again! Haha. It kicked off the day before my birthday and went a full week and a half with so, so many lovely things. My husband has pretty much mastered gift giving for me. Everything was so thoughtful, well-planned and perfectly executed. The Long Road Home

The end of an era. My mom and Ron are moving to the Outer Banks and have put my childhood home up for sale. To have one last stay in the house and to see my friend Stacey and her family visiting from Alaska, we planned a quick trip to Ohio. So many memories and I left feeling like I didn’t have enough time to revisit many beloved places or see many old friends. Such is life.
