Fresh Juice Friday: Morning Green Glory

IMG_5006

It’s been awhile since my last “Fresh Juice Friday” post and recipe. I’ve been so busy sharing gardening tips, summer trips, and job search advice that making fresh juice at home has been hard! Luckily for me, there is a fantastic juice bar in Atlanta called Arden’s Garden that makes great vegetable juices that I can grab when I’m particularly busy.

However, nothing beats homemade juice – it just tastes so fresh and gives me so much energy! This recipe is for my absolute favorite green juice… Continue reading

Fresh Juice Friday: Carrot-Ginger Love

Plain carrot juice is yummy, but I felt like something was missing as far as flavor and nutrients.

I began experimenting a bit, then got inspired by a recipe I found online and so this delicious carrot-ginger juice was born. And while those are the main flavors, this juice also has leafy green like kale and spinach, fresh lemons, and apples. It’s one of my favorite juices that I make, and I have it a couple of times a week. Continue reading

I Cook; Therefore I Don’t Watch (Much) TV

I haven’t had cable TV for more than three years, and I recently cancelled my basic TV subscription. There are several reasons for this – one of them being that it’s all just too expensive as a result of not enough competition among cable companies.

Fresh Juice Friday: Beet-Ginger Juice

After a fun and indulgent long weekend in Savannah, I’ve gotten back to my routine of juicing during the week. I fasted completely on the first day, and then ate one meal each day on the second and third days.

Sometimes I get very hungry, so if I’ve consumed my juice and water and still feel uncomfortably hungry after about 30 minutes, I’ll reach for a small, healthy snack to keep me on track. There are lots of snack products on the market, some are better than others and many are expensive. I think, however, that I’ve found a great solution… Continue reading

Fresh Juice Friday: Orange-Ginger-Jalapeno

I’m happy to report that I lost 7% of my body weight in the 2-month fitness challenge at work. I did it by focusing on food – juicing to incorporate more vegetables into my diet, and cooking at home with wholesome, quality ingredients. I’m still continuing on this journey, and I decided to share some juicing recipes since I already share many of my food recipes. Continue reading

March Against Monsanto: Stand Up For Your Health on May 25

Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green – The March Against Monsanto is not about political parties. It’s about WE, THE PEOPLE uniting against the corporations and their puppets in Washington, DC that don’t care about the life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness for any one of us. We have rights and we need to stand up for them in the face of greed, corruption, deception, and coercion.  Continue reading
