I came across a recipe on Reboot with Joe that featured fennel. Now, I’ve been an advocate of fennel seeds instead of gum for awhile. They are a perfect solution for those of us who don’t like chewing like a cow for fresh breath. I’ve also had fennel in salads, but as a juice? I knew I had to try it out for myself! Continue reading

Fresh Juice Friday: Cranberry Crush
My friend recently told me she had juiced some cranberries and really enjoyed the tart taste. I was immediately curious as I’ve never even thought about juicing cranberries. I was looking for new juicing recipes on Reboot With Joe and found one that called for cranberries that sounded amazing. Of course, I had to adapt to fit my own taste and what I currently had on hand at home. 😉 Continue reading
Easy Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe
We never ate Brussels Sprouts when I was growing up. I’m not sure why, we just never had them. As an adult, I began to find them in more and more dishes at restaurants and once I tried them I knew they would be a staple in my kitchen.
There are many ways to use Brussels Sprouts, both cooked and raw. I’ve had them cooked with other ingredients like nuts, fruits and vinaigrettes, and raw as a salad. One of my favorite ways to eat them is by far the simplest and easiest – roasted in the oven. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Continue reading
Christmastime Up North
Sean and I spent Christmas up north this year, visiting my family in Ohio and some of his family on his mom’s side in Pennsylvania. It’s great that we each have family near where our parents live so we can both see parts of our family at each holiday. So convenient! Here is a recap of our holiday week: Continue reading
Happy Holidays from Atlanta
We didn’t have a long holiday season this year – Thanksgiving was later in November, I was out of town the first weekend in December, and Sean traveled for work the week before Christmas.
Nonetheless, we made the most of our time together and tried to have as much holiday merriment as we could. We checked out the holiday lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, decorated our house, went to see Christmas at the Grove, watched several holiday movies and decorated a gingerbread house with friends. Not bad for only having one week and weekend together before traveling to see family for Christmas, huh? Continue reading
Handmade Holidays: Dam Fine Designs
In this third post in my series on Handmade Holidays (read posts one and two), I was introduced to a little business called Dam Fine Designs. My friend Cherish connected me to her colleague who had been sharing around her mom’s Etsy site to help give it some visibility. I was struck by the beautiful, handmade scarves and lovely pillows – and then I got the details of how this small business came to be. I knew I had to write about this for my final post in this short series. I hope you enjoy it and get some great ideas for gifts for your loved ones. Continue reading
Friends Reunited in Charlotte, NC
A fun-filled weekend with my oldest and dearest friends, in the middle of the holiday season – what could be better? Pretty much nothing!
It all started last year when my dear friend Lindsey had her sweet baby girl Adeline and I knew I had to visit (and introduce them to Sean for the first time!). Her sister Stacey, another dear friend of mine, came down from Alaska with her husband. We had a great time and sort of unofficially decided to do it again this year – but with more friends and more of Lindsey’s and Stacey’s family. Continue reading
