New Bites: San Pancho

A local find that we’ve now been to a couple of times, San Pancho is a great spot for casual and fast authentic Mexican food. Located in a small plaza off of Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA, this hole-in-the-wall is tiny – about 30 seats – and almost always busy, especially on the weekends. In addition to the delicious food, there is a small salsa bar and specialty drinks like agua fresca and horchata. Read on for more as part of my New Bites series. Continue reading

The Baby Chronicles: Harrison Jeffrey at 7 Months

Happy 7 months to my sweet boy. And what a month it has been. To say it’s been busy is an understatement. And I hate to even go on about being “busy” – we genuinely do not try to be “busy” for some kind of weird status symbol. We try to have plenty of downtime and a routine for our baby but this month was full of challenges. We’ve gotten through with help from family and friends, a bit less sleep than usual, and a lot of patience and grace toward our situation and with each other. The good news is our baby continues to be healthy and strong, and full of wonderful curiosity that brightens our days.  Continue reading

The Baby Chronicles: Harrison Jeffrey at 6 Months

Harrison’s 6th month started off with lots of activity. Sean started his second of five weeks at home with Harrison, and a slew of visitors began to arrive. Over this past month, Harrison has shown me time and time again how adaptable, easy-going and joyful he is. He had numerous days off of his “schedule” and was a champ. The month was full of other big and important firsts for our sweet boy! Continue reading

Out and About: “Luxury Cruise Liner” Dinner at Lure

Back in August, we attended our first of Lure’s themed, community-style Sunday Suppers, “Coastal Spain.” We loved it and had a fabulous time. When I heard about the next one, I immediately knew we’d want to attend. And the “Luxury Cruise Liner” theme and menu sounded incredible. We’ve been enjoying Lure for years and are so glad they’re having these events. The weekend of this event, my mother-in-law was in town and she offered to babysit Harrison while we went. 🙂 Continue reading

Tyler and Kym Visit Atlanta!

During my last couple weeks of maternity leave, Tyler and Kym came to visit and meet their nephew. There was also a photography conference going on that they both attended for a few days. Having them here was SO wonderful – there’s such a special bond for kids with their aunts and uncles and these two are going to be amazing with my sweet boy as he grows. It was also very cool to see how they instantly loved Harrison. <3 We got to do a lot of fun things in Atlanta, as well as spend quality time together at home.

New Bites: Gu’s Kitchen

After a hiatus of several years, Gu’s Dumplings returned to Buford Highway, Atlanta’s ethnic food “mecca,” as Gu’s Kitchen for a focus beyond dumplings and into Szechuan street food. We tried it out for the first time in December, and went back two more times in quick succession – one of those times being for lunch on Christmas Day 2018! Safe to say we really, really love this place and are glad for this addition to so many other delicious Buford Highway spots. We’ve sampled many items off the menu – read on to see which ones we like best.  Continue reading
