I can’t believe it’s been nine years since I started doing this countdown of my top eats of the year. I always have such a good time going back through all the adventures and highlighting the foods that stood out in various ways. 2025 was a big travel year with trips to Mexico, Ohio, London and Cornwall, New York City, Orlando, Boca Raton, Melbourne, Virginia Beach and Raleigh. I always seem to find something extraordinary in all the places I go which is such a delight! Here are the top 15 dishes.

London Vacation and Fun with Family

I’ve been planning this trip to the UK for over a year and it combined several things – a visit with Sean’s cousin Patrick, his wife Ali and their two boys Caleb and Ryan; time at the FIS office to meet coworkers in person after eight years of working together; my Huron University global alumni reunion; seeing longtime friends in the city; exploring more of the UK outside of London. It was Harrison’s first trip across the pond and my first time back in almost TEN years! To say it was a good trip would be an understatement. This was an action-packed international adventure with beautiful sights, delicious food, quality time with loved ones, and new experiences to make wonderful memories that I’ll cherish forever.

The Top 13 Things I Ate in 2023

It’s hard for me to believe this is my seventh year making this year-end list of the best things I ate. I did quite a bit of traveling this year including a few works trips to NYC, Las Vegas and Orlando and vacations in Western NC + Charlotte area, Atlanta, Williamsburg, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Melbourne, FL. I had great meals while in these places in addition to some outstanding dishes on the Outer Banks and in our home.  Continue reading

The Top 14 Things I Ate in 2022

2022 turned out to be a great year for food. Although we moved from Atlanta to a much smaller community in the Outer Banks, NC, we managed to have a wide variety of food experiences in both our new home and on all of our fun travels. This is the sixth year of my annual wrap-up of my top eats and I still love making this list so much. I hope you enjoy seeing our year through the tasty food we ate. Cheers! Continue reading

Family Photos, 2022 Edition

When we moved from Atlanta earlier this year, I knew we’d have to find a new family photographer for our annual photos. Since we were going to be in Melbourne visiting Sean’s family over Thanksgiving, which is near the time of year we normally do the photos, I thought we should expand our group to include his mom and stepdad. I’m glad we did because these photos turned out so well in spite of a very wet and gray morning. I love the ones with Harrison, Nana and JJ. There are some great ones with Sean and Harrison, too – not least because we had them taken at Sean’s childhood park (he teared up a bit when I told him we were getting the photos done at Pineapple Park <3) It’s important to me to take the time for these photographs and I always order prints to cycle into our picture frames at home.  Enjoy these 2022 family photographs. 🙂 Continue reading

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico: Markets, Arts & Crafts, Delicious Eats and ALL the Views

Sean’s dad picked us up from Barbara Porter’s place in Centro the morning after the Dia del Los Muertos festivities and we went to the Tuesday market and breakfast of barbacoa tacos with consume, and some shopping. This was absolutely a locals place and we loved it. Fresh produce, butchers, tortillas, clothes, kitchen items, toys – this place had it all. Great experience. Continue reading
