My Bachelorette Party: 5 Stops in Decatur, GA

IMG_9209

I’m not having a traditional wedding so I struggled with the idea of having a bachelorette party. We had already had our big “party” for our wedding in the form of an engagement party back in May. A bachelorette party in August was a little out of order of the usual way of things.

And then I said “oh well, who cares?!?”

I enlisted the help of Cherish and Krista who will also be at my wedding next month to help plan the bash. They kept most of the details hidden from me which was great because I was able to be pleasantly surprised on the day.

My lovely party planners put together the following itinerary for my bach festivities, complete with an outfit theme!8-6-2014 4-12-18 PM

I decided I wanted to primp and pamper myself a bit before my special night so I got a mani/pedi and then went to DryBar in Buckhead for a blowout. It was nice having my hair all fancy. 🙂IMG_9199

I left Buckhead and headed over to Decatur to meet Krista and Cherish at the hotel. I was shocked at how many goodies they had for me and for the evening. Yummy snacks, decorations, games, drinks, flowers…it was all so awesome!

One by one some of my closest friends started to arrive and they all came bearing gifts of….alcohol! This was a “stock the bar” bachelorette party so I received wine, bubbly, liquor and mojito fixins instead of lingerie. I loved this pre-party time – so much fun!IMG_9215IMG_9216

We changed our itinerary a bit and went to The Pinewood next instead of Kimball House. We got a table in the back big enough for all of us and ordered some fancy cocktails.IMG_9225

I thought that this stop was for drinks and snacks but there was way more to it than that! My tip was when a tray of 6 shots appeared  – and all just for me.

Cherish produced an iPad with video of her asking Sean various questions. Questions that I had to answer correctly – or down a shot. They asked him things like “What’s your favorite trait of Victoria’s,” “What would Victoria say is your most annoying habit?,” and “What is your least favorite outfit of Victoria’s?”. There were WAY more than 6 questions and so I ended up taking all the shots. This was such a surprise and so fun – one of my favorite parts of the evening.IMG_9227IMG_9239IMG_9236

The walk from The Pinewood to Leon’s Full Service was spirited as we were all a few drinks in (and I was a few shots in on top of that) and we happily stopped to strike a pose for the camera on the sidewalk.IMG_9243

What did we do at Leon’s? We played bocce ball, one of my favorite games! And did I mention that Cherish was 9 months pregnant and less than a week from her due date? She is amazing!IMG_9252IMG_9254

And we also had drinks at Leon’s. Because they are delicious. 😉IMG_9261

Our fourth stop was dinner at The Iberian Pig. Fancy! I loved having everyone together for a nice meal. IMG_9269

Me with my awesome party planners, Cherish and Krista. Can’t thank these ladies enough for all their hard work and creativity in making my night special and memorable!IMG_9286

Stop number 5 was my longtime favorite, Brick Store Pub. This was one of the very first bars/pubs I came to when I moved to Atlanta in 2008 and I’ve been here with so many wonderful people. A perfect way to end an amazing day!IMG_9287

Yes, I wore the sash till the very end of the night – because I am the bachelorette. 🙂IMG_9288

Thank you to Cherish, Krista, Wendy, Amanda, Beth, Jennifer and Sam for celebrating with me in person. There were several ladies who couldn’t make it who wanted to – I know you were there in spirit. It was wonderful to be celebrated during this special time in my life.
