It’s been a delightfully chilly winter in Atlanta this year and we’ve enjoyed getting outside to take full advantage of the brisk air. We like to find new parks (for us) and playgrounds (for Harrison). We recently discovered McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth and have loved going there on weekends. It also gives us the opportunity to try new restaurants in other parts of town. Banh Mi Cafe was our most recent post-playground lunch stop and we will definitely be back.
Banh Mi Cafe is a small place at the end of a plaza and has a simple and clean interior.
The menu, though, is vibrant! So many options with by far the most variety of Banh Mi sandwiches I’ve ever seen.
I’ll take this opportunity to state that Harrison LOVES pho – and loves to use chopsticks (or tries to use).
We decided to try several different dishes. I had the Banh Mi Ga Nurong – grilled chicken tenderloin drizzled with hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Juicy, flavorful chicken, fresh herbs, pickled veggies and light, crispy Vietnamese baguette – what’s not to love?
I got the tofu pho because Harrison loves tofu and pho. It came with lots of vegetables but some of them appeared to have been chucked in at the end because they were pretty raw. However – the broth was phenomenal. Next time I’ll order a meat-based pho.
Sean had a bun dish with pork and egg roll which he loved.
We also got an appetizer of egg rolls which were very tasty – tiny hands made quick work of these crispy bites. 🙂
Vietnamese sauces can’t be beat. It’s the fish sauce. 😉
If you’re near Duluth or feel like trying a new spot OTP, give Banh Mi Cafe a try. It’ll be worth it.
