After a loooooooong wait, Hattie B’s finally opened in Atlanta earlier this year. I had my first experience with Nashville Hot Chicken a few years ago in Nashville and when I heard Hattie B’s was planning to expand to the A, I stalked the updates of the project. Given my excitement and having been a couple of times already, I had to feature them on my New Bites series! Their hot chicken is flavorful and spicy, with perfectly crispy skin while being juicy on the inside. While this place is still super popular and you will most definitely have to wait, it is worth it! The parking situation in Little 5 Points is annoying (the lot is absurdly small and you have to pay to park at the larger lot next door) but this place is an experience worth having!
Crinkle fries are a must as one of the sides! Hattie B’s also offers local beers on tap and a bunch of other yummy sides.
The chicken comes in many heat levels. I usually get either medium or hot and find it’s got a nice kick but I can still taste and enjoy my side dishes. I usually get the dark meat but they also have white meat and tenders, as well as a sandwich.
Coleslaw, crinkle fries, pimento mac and cheese, basked beans…I think I’ve tried almost all the sides at this point and they are all tasty. 🙂
If you want awesome fried chicken with a twist, love southern-style side dishes, and want to support a growing regional chain, get yourself to Hattie B’s. Yum!
