New Bites: San Pancho

A local find that we’ve now been to a couple of times, San Pancho is a great spot for casual and fast authentic Mexican food. Located in a small plaza off of Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA, this hole-in-the-wall is tiny – about 30 seats – and almost always busy, especially on the weekends. In addition to the delicious food, there is a small salsa bar and specialty drinks like agua fresca and horchata. Read on for more as part of my New Bites series.

The menu is directly over the order counter when you walk in – and you will have to maneuver around the tables so be prepared – this place is very small. But it’s a lively, fun vibe, with families, couples and friends chatting over their tacos, posole, horchata. 🙂

We ordered nachos, an al pastor torta, and several tacos on our first visits. The nachos, pictured directly below, had lots of fresh and delicious toppings over homemade tortilla chips. Yum!

Those shrimp tacos were delicious. The tomato-onion topping was so bright and flavorful against the smoky taste of the grilled shrimp. They also have the usual suspects like lengua, asada, al pastor and chicken. All good and fun to customize with the salsa bar.

The al pastor torta was so yummy. Plenty of meat, lettuce, avocado on fresh, soft bread made for a perfect lunch dish. Sean was very happy with this.

Another shot of those delicious tacos de camarones. SO GOOD!

Family-friendly place too – lots of kids in there, everyone making noise and having fun. This is truly a great local spot and we’re thrilled to have found it!
