This year, Sean and I purchased an Atlanta restaurant passbook filled with buy one, get one deals at awesome restaurants across the city. One of the first places we decided to check out was a midtown neighborhood pizzeria called Varuni Napoli that we’d been wanting to try for a while. This place isn’t new by any means, but it was new to us so it’s here on New Bites. 🙂
I was impressed with the inside – big, open space with views to the kitchen and the incredible ovens that cook the pizza almost instantly.
Nice selection of beer and wine, and other menu items like burrata, salads and desserts. We sat at one of the many large picnic tables, which contributed to the overall casual and neighborhood-eatery vibe.
We had the Spacca Napoli with fresh buffalo mozzarella, Taleggio cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onions, Pecorino Romano, basil, truffle salt, black truffle oil – so good!
And the Pako with buffalo mozzarella, roasted peppers, Italian sausage, mushrooms, caramelized onions, Pecorino Romano, basil.
All in all, this was a yummy spot for quick pizza with fresh, quality ingredients and a great atmosphere.
