It’s always nice when friends come to town for a visit. I also like it because I often end up getting to be a tourist in my own city by doing different things than I normally do. This past weekend with Lindsey and Adeline was no exception.
Well, the whole weekend wasn’t really spent acting like a tourist. We took them to our favorite Mexican spot on Buford Highway, El Rey del Taco (read more about it in my post on Buford Highway), on Friday night for dinner. Margaritas for the adults and plenty of booth-climbing for Addie to keep her occupied.
Saturday morning we had breakfast and then headed to the Chattahoochee River to “Shoot the ‘Hooch.” We did the “upper” section which is slow-moving and calm, and it took us a long time to get to the end. We were sunburned and tired, but had a great time being outside on the water all day.
We made dinner at home, played with Addie and the pups, and then brought out the fun game of “Exploding Kittens” which is full of hilarious cards, like the “NOPE!” card.
Sunday was decidedly the most “tourist-y” day we had because we went to the Georgia Aquarium. Sean and I had both been before, but not together. We went early to get some time in before the crowds which was a good decision. Being there with Addie was so fun – she was just completely enthralled with all of it especially the penguins.
After the aquarium, we went to one of our favorite neighborhood spots for sushi. I know, I know. Like we were eating the fish we were just admiring. 😉
Then it was back home for a little more playtime and goodbyes. So glad they got to visit but man did the weekend fly by! Enjoy the pics, y’all!
