During my last couple weeks of maternity leave, Tyler and Kym came to visit and meet their nephew. There was also a photography conference going on that they both attended for a few days. Having them here was SO wonderful – there’s such a special bond for kids with their aunts and uncles and these two are going to be amazing with my sweet boy as he grows. It was also very cool to see how they instantly loved Harrison. <3 We got to do a lot of fun things in Atlanta, as well as spend quality time together at home.
Kym and Tyler got right into aunt and uncle mode when they arrived, getting in lots of snuggles with baby Harrison. And Stella and Peggy, of course. 😉
We had an afternoon outing to Krog Street Market, which they’d never been to before, and had pizza from Varuni Napoli and some sushi before doing a little shopping.
Back at home were more snuggles and a fashion show by Harrison of the cute Harry Potter outfits that Kym got for him.
We also took them to Kula Revolving Sushi bar where the food comes by on a conveyor belt, and you can special-order items that shoot out on the 2nd level conveyor belt and stop right at your table. It’s a really neat experience that we wanted to share with them, and the place has non-sushi dishes so it’s easy for everyone to get something they like!
Kym’s uncle, cousin and grandma live in a northern Atlanta suburb and on a break from her and Tyler’s day at their photography conference, we all met for brunch in Midtown at 5Church and had a very yummy meal. We then all walked in the very cold and windy weather to Sean’s office to see beautiful city views from the top floors.
Kym’s cousin Laney with Harrison. SO sweet.
More time at home was filled with bouncy chairs, activity mats, funny hats, more Harry Potter outfits and lots of cuddles.
Tyler and Kym made their specialty dish of from-scratch pierogies for us with plenty leftover for us to freeze for easy dinners later. They were delicious! Tyler also made corn casserole – a throwback to our family holiday dinners as kids. So good! Thank you guys!
We were all sad to have to say goodbye. I know they miss Harrison and I miss them, and hate that we all live so far away. They are the best aunt and uncle our baby could have and we will get out to the beach to visit them soon, and see their new house! We love them so much and had a fabulous time together!!! <3
