The Baby Chronicles: Harrison Jeffrey at One Year!

A whole year! Baby Harrison is one year old! From the chaos of the early newborn days to the chaos of the mobile baby we have now and everything in between, this has been an eventful year. Harrison has had another big month that moved him from infant to toddler and we have grown together as a family overall. As I look back on the year, I’m most thankful for a healthy, happy baby who continues to grow big and strong with a fun, easy-going disposition – and the support of my family especially my hubby. <3 Continue reading

New Bites: Spring

In 2017, Bon Appetit magazine named Spring restaurant in Marietta, Georgia #7 of the top 10 best new restaurants in America. I knew I wanted to go but I waited awhile since I knew it would be busy. Then i got pregnant and wanted to go when I could have the full experience with wine, so I waited again. I checked a few times for Saturday reservations on, um, the Friday before and often found the place booked up. I finally planned and timed everything right – an early reservation on a Saturday that my mom was here to watch the baby. It was a surprise for Sean and I could tell he was stumped as we made our way completely across northern Metro Atlanta. Read on for all the details but I’ll start by saying I will be returning to Spring. πŸ˜‰ Continue reading

L.A. Getaway

Almost two years ago my very dear friend MeShae took an opportunity for relocation to Los Angeles, California with her company. I was sad of course but knew that she would shine out on the west coast. I wanted to visit but had to find the right time with being pregnant and then having an infant. Sean traveled for work almost half of the summer so I had his full support for a long weekend in LA to spend with my friend. It was a fabulous time! Continue reading

The Baby Chronicles: Harrison Jeffrey at 10 Months

Month 10. Wow. It’s hard to believe how quickly Harrison is approaching his first birthday. These past few weeks have been really hard with Sean traveling almost the entire month of June, and the first several days of July. The good news is that Harrison and I had a lot of time together and we did some fun things. I noticed this month that many of his developments were improvements on what he developed in month nine – rather than numerous completely new developments. Read on!

Out and About: Refugee Benefit with Talat Market and Fresh Harvest

We’ve been Fresh Harvest customers for awhile now and couldn’t be bigger fans of the company. As our CSA (community-supported agriculture), we receive a weekly produce basket from Georgia farms delivered right to our door. They also sell meat, dairy, and other specialty products from vendors on their site and those can be delivered with the produce. We’ve drastically improved the quality of vegetables and protein in our house with them. Fresh Harvest takes everything back to reuse – the box, the ice packs and the foil packs. And as if that weren’t enough, they’re based in Clarkston, GA – a refugee resettlement community – and hire many refugees. I cannot say enough about this company and how much it means to us to be a small part of this.

When I heard that they were doing a benefit for refugees with Talat Market, an incredible pop-up Thai restaurant that uses local Southern ingredients and was on Bon Appetit’s 50 Best New Restaurants last year, I knew we had to attend. That it fell on Sean’s birthday weekend was icing on the (birthday) cake. πŸ˜‰ Continue reading

Outer Banks Vacation + Family Time 2019

Tyler and Kym (my brother and sister-in-law) bought a house on the Outer Banks last fall and we finally got to go out there to visit them and see it! It’s truly the perfect house for them, complete with a saltwater pool and gorgeous lake views, while only being a 5-minute drive to the beach. It was the perfect way to spend a 5-day Memorial Day weekend. Trust me, we did NOT want to leave. We had so much fun! Continue reading
