The Switch To Third-Party

Ah, the presidential debates – people get SO fired up about which side is “right” or “best.”. That was me, four years ago. I’m not going to watch any of them this year. I don’t care which “side” you think you support – they don’t care about you…or any of us.

And that’s where we need to get it together – this is OUR country, OUR lives, OUR families, OUR food. We leave it up to the government to solve this for us – Democrats and Republicans alike – in some form. It may be security, subsidies, education, agriculture, etc. but it’s such a racket. No matter what “side” you’re on – it’s really all the same and the “issues” are mainly used to rille us up – welfare and social issues for Democrats, and military spending and social issues for Republicans. For all the talk and fervor and outrageous hatred we’ve all spewed towards one another over the past 10-15 years, don’t you find it interesting that not much has changed? Don’t you ever wonder why that is?

It’s propaganda – we are trained to do, think, act, believe in certain ways and while I believe that things like military imperialism and fake food are harming us in immeasurable ways, I truly believe the WORST thing is how horribly we treat each other for being different from one another. We are all humans: mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins, friends, lovers, neighbors. WHY do we let millionaire politicians who have NO interest in our day-to-day lives dicate how we feel about and treat one another? And at the expense of our growth as people? At the expense of the growth of our communities?

I want us to KNOW each other, respect each other – and make that the priority. Not what some corporate-owned politician says we should value. That’s fake. If we look in our hearts and our minds, I know we will find that we can leave the bullshit propaganda behind.

I challenge all of you to take the time to watch the third-party debates this year on October 23. I don’t necessarily trust that these politicians hold the keys to anything better than the others, but I do feel it’s worth a try. And it’s always worth it to learn something new – particularly from these folks that don’t have the financial backing of corporate interests – which are definitely NOT our interest. Watch, and learn. It’s such a GOOD START.
